BOAT HISTORY AND MAINTENANCE

This Bavaria was bought in the summer of 2005 in Mytilene. It was formerly called Vereniki, registered in Mytilene (Lesvos). It remained on the hard at the Nautical Club of Mytilene, where extensive restoration and reconstruction works were carried out on the accommodation areas as well as all electrical re-wiring and new hydraulic network and equipment of the vessel until 2007.
For the reconstruction of the accommodation, panels imported from the Netherlands were used with marine-grade plywood lined on both sides with teak, factory-painted with satin varnish, and solid teak for the visible joints and columns. The inner floor panels were replaced with laminate-coated on both sides marine grade plywood. In 2007, all rigging, navigation, anchor and accommodation lights were replaced. Lewmar's opening huts were installed in the salon and heads, and the acrylics were changed in the companionway. New heads were constructed and bulkheads were added between the toilet and the living room, as was the original design of the boat.

In 2012, the acrylics of the cabin windows were replaced.

In 2014, the lining of the roof of the salon and bow cabin were replaced. The wiring was completely redesigned with thicker cables and routes through electrical channels marked with
their connection. Electrical switchboards for 12 and 220 Volt were replaced with three panels of Blue Sea Systems, and the interior lights of the salon were replaced with LED bulbs.

In May 2018, the old Volvo engine and the reverse were replaced with a new Yanmar 3YM30 AE, and the vessel's engine room was completely rebuilt. The shaft, cutlass bearing, and propeller were also replaced to fit the new engine.

In May 2021, the boat's batteries were replaced.

In June 2021, chainplates, shrouds, forestay, halyards and sheets were replaced. The sheaves of the mast were also replaced, and the gooseneck and outhaul of the boom were repaired. New chainplates installed.
In addition to the extraordinary maintenance shown by the replacement dates of the parts, the systematic annuals include the maintenance of the engine, changing filters, cleaning the diesel tank, lifting the boat and cleaning the hull, renewing the antifouling, restore varnishes, changing the anodes and polish the boat with 3M wax and the inox parts with suitable cleaner.
Additionally, In the regular maintenance of 2022, the iron keel of the boat was cleaned with sandblasting, covered with epoxy putty and epoxy and then with primer and three hands of antifouling paint. The humidity of the hull is measured regularly in each maintenance. It measures steadily in the normal levels of moisture.
Mast wiring and VHF antenna were replaced in 2021.
The hull of the vessel has received antiosmotic treatment by West Systems (2005).
